YorkMetrics are a software and system measurement business. I was approached with the request to update their current branding.
Their current branding consisted of a paper crane, to symbolise their contact with Japanese clients. Their intention was to keep this visual assets, but wanted to develop their look and feel of their brand. Wishing to use red a brand colour was key, to visualise passion, and key links to Japanese design.
Wanting to recreate the paper crane for new branding was challenging. Attempting to design the crane using photographs as references proved less that standard results. Approaching the task from a different perspective was vital, and steps to do this included learning how to fold a paper crane and then creating a paper crane in 3D imaging software. Using this solution, a higher quality design was achieved.
The client was pleased with the result, and on completion of this project, future collaborations have been arranged.
